Teri's Orange Cream Tart

I am excited to be here visiting Mindie and everyone at Bacon Time with The Hungry Hypo today. I have one last summer recipe to share with you today. Lately, I have noticed that the days are getting just a little bit shorter, so I guess it is inevitable that summer will be ending soon. I just wanted to drag it out a little bit with this dessert, an Orange Cream Tart. This tart says "summertime" to me!

Anything Goes Linky #169, Treatment Update, And Features

Grab code from right side bar please.

Welcome to the party! I am so glad you are here. It's been a long week. I accepted a two week substitute teaching position for 4th grade. This being the first week of school, there was a lot of energy in the classroom. Next week should be a little easier. It's been so many years since I taught full time, I forgot how exhausting it can be.  I am happy to be back to work though, it makes me feel like my life is  finally returning to normal, since the breast cancer diagnosis.

If you would like a quick update on my treatment, and test results, keep reading, if not, go ahead and skip to our great features, and linky party.  This week I received my lab results back. As I mentioned last week, they found abnormal cells in my blood work, earlier in the month. After testing my vitamin levels, and thyroid, they can't find any explanation for the abnormal cells. At this time they are writing it off as a "flook".  I was not aware doctors used terminology like "flook" to explain medical conditions. I can't say I am feeling completely relaxed by the explanation. They did say they would retest my blood when I come back in, to see if there has been any changes. I guess if they are not worried, I will try not to worry.   I do have some good news, I am being put on a new medication to take along side the Tamoxifen. The new prescription should help counteract the nasty side effects of the Tamoxifen. They said to give the new medicine a try for one month. If I don't feel better, and the reoccurring infection I am getting doesn't go away, they will most likely take me off of the Tamoxifen, and try a different treatment plan.
Thank you all for your continued support, and words of encouragement. I feel like I have a huge extended family of support, and well, I guess I do :)

Now here's what you may have missed this week at Bacon Time:

Emily's Free Printables Great For Moms

Good morning y'all! How are the wonderful readers of Bacon Time? I need to apologize for my terrible spelling mistakes when Mindie put this post up last time. Sorry Y'all! They are fixed now and hope you like them. Have you been enjoying your summer so far? Well I'm back from a wonderful vacation to visit family and of course doing tons of laundry as my family has been all over the place in the last couple of weeks. So, that got me thinking about what's hanging up in my laundry room. You know that dark place where your children like to drop their clothes and loose their socks? Don't your kids do that? Mine do and they create tons of laundry. Four boys equals huge amounts of stinky laundry. I don't know about little girls but my kids laundry is just gross! Boys! Anyway I was looking at the art I have hanging up in my boring beige laundry room and thinking y'all might have the same kinds of boring laundry rooms that need a bit of spicing up and thought you might enjoy this months printable to hang on your walls. Now if y'all have beautiful laundry rooms I bow down to you but it's the one room in the house that doesn't really get much attention except for changing loads of laundry. It will probably be the last place we paint etc... So, I've hung up one of my favorite quotes about laundry. Hope you enjoy this one.

For those that need a more neutral print here is a chalkboard version of my favorite laundry quote.
